About me
I am a historical and community herbalist. My work sits at the intersection of historical herbalism, women’s healing traditions, embodied restoration, community care, decolonial perspectives on plant medicine, and the role of plants in memory, belonging, and restoration after rupture.
Through Living History with the Historical Herbalists, I explore the practical use of medicinal plants in the past and the lives of the people who used them, researching particularly the medieval and early modern period. I also lead foraging walks, women’s seasonal circles, and an online learning community, Wise Herbal Ways, creating spaces where people can reconnect with ancestral knowledge, deepen their relationship with the land and the plants around them, and rediscover the wisdom hidden within the “sea of green.” My work encourages people to see familiar “weeds” with fresh eyes, learn from their resilience, care for the environment, and honour the legacy of the wise women who carried herbal knowledge through the generations.
I am also the host of The Sage’s Cabin podcast; conversations with herbalists, historians, and voices within social justice movements, to weave together stories of healing, resistance, and reconnection.
I am available for talks, writing, workshops, Living History events, podcasts, and collaborations.
